Build & Load-In Photos
As Assistant Technical Director for "Into the Woods", I oversaw the house units and Cinderella's Mother's Tree from the budgeting phase all the way through to load-in. The Baker's House and Cinderella's Mother's Tree were both automated elements that were crew-motivated from offstage, causing the Baker's roof to fall in and Cinderella's Mother's Tree to "split" respectively. I worked with my Technical Direction mentor to create the rigging systems that brought the action from these units from the director and designer's brains to life.
Turntable Photos
For this production, I also had the opportunity to take on the role of automation programmer for the 18' turntable that was utilized throughout the entire production. A Creative Conners RevolveV2 was networked offstage to the operator's station, where the entire show was programmed in Spikemark 5. The show was tracked and programmed in terms of position in units of degrees, and multiple passes of fine-tuning allowed us to get the turntable to land exactly where we needed it to for each cue.
